Last updated 19 August 2026Tradites builds websites for trade businesses, answers their phones, and asks their customers for reviews. That means we handle two different sets of people’s information: the trade businesses we contact or work for, and the members of the public who call them. This page covers both, in plain terms.
If you just want it to stop:
Reply STOP to any text and you will never be contacted again — it is permanent and immediate. Use the removal link at the bottom of any page we built for you and it comes down the same day. Or email hello@tradites.com and we will delete what we hold. You do not have to give a reason and we will not ask for one.
If you are a trade business
Before you are a customer
We find trade businesses through public sources — principally Google Maps business listings and the websites those listings link to. What we collect is what is already published: business name, trade, service area, phone number, public email address, opening hours, photos, and public reviews. We do not buy contact lists and we do not scrape private data.
We use it to work out whether we can help you and, if we think we can, to build you a sample website and get in touch once. If you tell us to stop, we suppress your details permanently rather than deleting them, because a deleted record would simply be found again the next time we look at public listings. The suppression list is append-only: it is never reversed in code.
When you enquire
The form on this site asks for your business name, mobile number and trade. We use them to call you back and to set up your account. We do not sell them, share them for anyone else’s marketing, or use them for anything other than the service you asked about.
When you are a customer
We hold what running the service requires:
- Your business details, opening hours, service area and the number your calls forward from.
- Recordings, transcripts and summaries of the calls we answer for you.
- The jobs booked, and the customer details captured on those calls.
- Billing information — handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
All of it is yours. If you leave, we hand it over and delete our copy on request.
If you called a business that we answer for
When you ring a trade business that uses Tradites and they cannot pick up, the call comes to us and is answered by an automated receptionist working on their behalf.
These calls are recorded and transcribed. The recording, a written transcript, and a short summary are passed to the business you called, along with the details you gave — your name, your number, the problem you described, the address of the job, and which language the call was in. The business uses that to call you back and do the work. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell it.
If you would rather not be recorded, say so and the assistant will take a message for a human to return, or hang up and contact the business another way.
Text messages
We send texts in two situations, and both stop the moment you tell them to.
- To trade businesses: to tell you a preview site is ready, or about the service you signed up for.
- To a business’s customers, on their behalf: a single request for a Google review after a finished job, and at most one reminder three days later. Then it stops on its own.
Every message accepts STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT. Reply with any of them and that number is suppressed permanently — not for ninety days, not until the next campaign. Reply HELP for contact details. Message and data rates may apply. We never send review requests only to customers we think are happy: everyone gets asked, because filtering breaks Google’s rules.
How long we keep things
Call recordings, transcripts, call summaries and the details extracted from a call are deleted after 12 months by an automated job that runs nightly and logs what it removed, so a purge that stops running is visible rather than silent. A shorter window can be set for your account on request.
Records of the jobs booked and the leads captured are kept while you are a customer, because they are your business records, and deleted on request when you leave. Suppression records — people who said stop — are kept indefinitely, because that is the only way to honour the request.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of suppliers to run the service, and they only ever see what they need to do their part:
- Voice platforms that carry and transcribe the calls.
- A telecoms provider for the phone numbers and text messages.
- An email provider for notifications.
- Hosting and database providers, based in the United States.
- Your own job-management software, if you asked us to connect it.
We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, and only if you sign in to the customer area: a signed session cookie so you stay logged in for twelve hours. There is no advertising tracking on this site and no third-party analytics cookies.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and ask us to stop contacting you. Texas residents and residents of states with consumer-privacy laws have those rights in statute; we apply them to everyone regardless. Email hello@tradites.com and we will answer within 30 days. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we change this page and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers are emailed, not buried here.
